Remodeling your home is a big decision. In terms of time, money, comfort, and convenience, you have a lot of things to consider. What part of your home would you like to address? What do you want to be changed? How do you want it to be changed? These are important questions, and the answers may not be that easy to communicate. This is why the design consultation with your remodeler is such an essential part of the process. It’s during this consultation that these questions and more will be answered. Working with a highly skilled, experienced design team can help you discover options that you may have been unaware of and find solutions to problems you didn’t know you had, creating a design that meets your needs.  Furthermore, at Acadian House, we are the designers and contractors. This means that you only need to hire one company, not several.

  • What is included in an in-home consultation?

    We will have two degreed designers visit your home to discuss your project with you. They will ask you questions about how you use your space, what you like and don't like about it, and what you hope the result will be. The designers will give you ideas of various solutions for your project and will also provide a ballpark figure of how much it may cost. They will also take measurements and photos of your space for the future design and selections process.

  • What is included in a virtual consultation?

    A virtual consultation allows you to get the process started on your own schedule.  We collect the same information as we would for our in-home consultation, as well as several photos from a variety of angles of the space.  


    Once received, our expert design team will contact you with any additional questions and a rough floorplan for you to provide measurements.  


    Lastly, through the use of technology like Zoom and FaceTime, we will review the photos, plans, and discuss the options for your project.

  • Will the in-home consultation fee be applied to the designs?

    The In-home consultation fee will be applied to the cost of construction.

  • Do I get to choose which designers I work with?

    Our design teams are assigned to projects based on a rotation system. All of our designers are degreed and experienced in the kitchen and bath industry. However, if you have a specific request regarding the designer you'd like to work with, please let client relations director know and she can try to accommodate your request. It may result in longer lead time for scheduling your in-home consultation. 

  • What if my taste doesn't match with the style of the designer?

    We design spaces that fit your style. Our designers will guide you through the selections process to find the finishes that will be a direct reflection of your style and taste.

  • Do you only renovate kitchens and baths?

    We do whole house renovations but specialize in kitchens and baths. We can help you with your living spaces!

  • Can you help me with an addition or new construction?

    While we cannot handle the construction of an addition or new construction home, we can assist with the design and selection process as well as provide products for your project. For a home addition, we can finish out the space once the foundation, roof, and walls are complete. 

  • If I already have a contractor, can I still work with you?

    Yes, if you are planning a renovation and already have a contractor, we can work with you to design and make selections for the space. At the end of the design and selection process, you own the designs and specifications for your project so that you can pass them along to your contractor. For projects that require a permit, our designs would need to be passed along to an architect or draftsman to create permitted plans.
