After graduating from LSU with a degree in interior design, Thibodaux native Kyla Rodrigue Matthews became one of Acadian House’s designers. She worked as an intern during her senior year at LSU and was offered a full-time position upon graduation. “I loved Acadian House, so it was perfect timing when they offered me the job.” Since 2014 her favorite parts of her job include visiting job sites and ensuring that her plans are coming to life and meeting the high standard that has been set at Acadian House.

What is on Your Bucket List?: Renting a car to drive around the Irish countryside with my husband.
Favorite Item in a Room: Lamp Lighting
Best Piece of Advice: My Dad said, “Everything worth having is worth waiting for.” I still believe and cherish this advice today.
Hidden Talent: Whistling Tunes
Where/When Would You Time Travel?: To my parents’ childhood so we could hang out and be friends.
Who Inspires You?: My Husband
Favorite Childhood Memory: Leaving our house before the sun came up in late fall and early winter to go to the bird dog field trials, where my Dad ran bird dogs. We would bring our horses to ride, play in the pines, and search for treasure in the red clay dirt.
What is Your Perfect Saturday: No alarm, coffee and NetFlix in bed, and joyriding with the with the windows down with my husband.
