Baton Rouge Bathroom Contractor: Wall Treatments to Consider

Your bathroom is an essential space within your home. It’s where you begin your day, relax, and, and end your day. From preparation to conversation to relaxation, this versatile room is a central area for your everyday routine. With that being said, an update can be a welcome and needed change.

While technological and stylistic upgrades are a given, wall treatments are also an important consideration for a bathroom renovation. The moisture created within a bathroom allows for a wet, humid environment.
Whether its overspray from the shower or a steam from a hot bath, even a well-vented space can’t mitigate all of the damage imposed by the natural wet, hot atmosphere of a bathroom. In order to easily maintain the walls and surface of your bathroom, you need the appropriate treatments.

Choose a Glossy or Semi-Gloss Bathroom Paint

It’s easy to think of pain only in terms of color. However, there are other considerations to make when selecting a paint for your bathroom walls. Regular interior paint with a matte or flat finish has pores that will trap moisture, a less than ideal choice for a bathroom environment. Selecting a glossy or semi-gloss finish instead can mitigate this problem by causing water to bead up on the surface rather than being absorbed.

Bathroom Tile is a Hygienic Option

While tile is a classic option and choice in the bathroom, it has a lot more to due with function than with fashion. Tile is both water-resistant and hygienic. Porcelain, ceramic, travertine, glass, and slate are all suitable options for lining the surfaces of your bathroom.

Large Scale Tiles Require Less Maintenance

Waterproof surfacing in your shower is an important piece of protecting your bathroom. Large scale tiles are an excellent option for bathroom treatment. With a variety of colors and finishes, you can customize the aesthetics of your space. This surface is non-porous and doesn’t require the maintenance that small tile with grout requires. Large scale tiles are easy to clean and maintain.

Bathroom Mirrors Open the Space

Mirrors are a key component of any bathroom. They also add depth, dimension and reflect natural light. This versatile feature can enhance any bathroom surface.
